In the first half of the last century, between 1930 and 1950, BenLee was a huge name in boxing. Famous boxers fought in them: "Bomber Brown" Joe Louis, "Jersey" Joe Walcott and Rocky Marciano, 3 heavyweight champions one after another, all of them stood in the ring with BenLee boxing gloves and BenLee shorts. Other champions such as Jake "The Raging Bull" La Motta, "Sugar" Ray Robinson and Floyd Patterson also wore BenLee. BenLee began producing boxing equipment in the 1930s but retired from business in the 1960s. The Punch GmbH wants to revive the tradition, and in memory of Rocky Marciano, the best boxer ever who died in 1969, has added his name to "his" brand: BenleeRockyMarciano.
